Walking School Bus
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The neighborhood children walk to school with a few designated parents. As you walk together along your route, you pick up other children. We would have designated “stations”, convenient to the majority of children interested in walking to School: Village Street (Animal Shelter parking lot), Pleasant Street (Old Sundance School parking lot), Westshore Drive (corner intersecting with Shorewood Road). We can add more sites depending on interest and parent involvement.
HOW OFTEN WILL THE BUS RUN?
Every Friday morning for MAY and JUNE. Meet at the “Stations” at 7:40am . Starting Friday May 2nd. Weather permitting, of course.
REQUIREMENT: Getting to the stations on time.
If you are interested in joining, please fill out the information below and send it into the school in an envelope marked “Walking School Bus”
*** Please read the poem written by Elina Fisher who is a student at Village School for reasons why the Walking School Bus is important!!

Bell School’s GREEN Bus
By Elina Fisher
Bell School is starting a walking school bus,
to make the world more green.
So come and join us,
And ride the new GREEN bus!
If you walk to school everyday,
You’re helping in a positive way.
You’re keeping the planet green,
while staying healthy and lean.
Carpooling is okay.
But walking in the sun,
is definitely the way!
Walking, biking, running, skateboarding, too,
Help the world get back into a healthy groove.
So let’s have some fun
and ride the Bell School walking GREEN bus!
It’s one way each of us
can make a difference,
to keep our community green,
and help our beautiful planet stay clean.
Now, doesn’t that make a lot of sense?
